Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about playing Christmas Flabberbash, the two editions, and getting your hands on a deck.
Playing the game
How many people can play Christmas Flabberbash?
3 to 10 players with one deck. Shuffle the Peppermint and Snowflake editions together and up to 20 people can play.
What ages is it for?
Ages 4 and up. The core move is flipping a card and spotting the rarest character, so young kids can play right alongside teens, parents and grandparents.
How long does a game take?
You choose — anywhere from 10 minutes to 10 hours. Seven rounds is the default, or just keep playing until you're ready to stop.
Do I have to act things out?
Only if you want to. Anyone who would rather not perform can be a Permanent Judge and help choose the Star Performer each round.
How quickly can we learn it?
Each deck comes with Quick Play guide cards, and the How to Play page walks through every step with examples. Most groups are playing within a few minutes.
Is it a good game for Christmas parties?
That's exactly what it was made for. It works for small family nights and big holiday parties, needs no setup beyond shuffling, and gets even the quiet ones laughing.
The editions
What's the difference between the Peppermint and Snowflake editions?
The rules are identical. Each edition has its own cast of characters and its own Star Card activities. Peppermint has candy-cane striped card backs; Snowflake has snowflake card backs.
Can I combine the two decks?
Yes. Combine them for bigger groups of up to 20 players. The different card-back patterns make it easy to sort them again afterwards.
What's in the box?
Each edition has 32 Character Cards, 20 Star Cards and Quick Play guide cards.
